Biography
*29. 12. 1969
Even as a small child I was ambitious - from an early age I
played the piano, danced and painted. Finally, when the time came to decide
what to do with my life, I chose film. To me, it was a way of combining
everything I had been involved with since childhood. I choose to specialize
in documentary film - something I had grown up with as my father spent his
whole life as a documentary filmmaker. I commenced my studies in 1989 in the
Film Faculty of Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) - directing of documentary
films. It was wonderful and I managed to stay there as long as possible,
graduating in 1997. (But my graduate film was finished in 1999.)
I never lost my ambition and I also had good luck - thanks to the revolution
I could start to shoot documentary films, commercials and music videos
nearly from the start of my studies. This was the best school for me....
