Synopsis
Ideas aren’t thought up, they just come. A black comedy with a happy ending. The fictional story comes from a combination of the
personal experiences of filmmakers from two generations – screenwriter Václav Šašek and director Igor Chaun. We follow the aging
screenwriter Otakar’s struggle to keep on top while the era and conditions have changed. His attempts to be part of the new
environment and maintain his fame end bizarrely. He hangs out with director Vladimír, an old colleague, who surpasses even Otakar
when it comes to commercial ineptitude… Their joint film project seems headed for disaster until Otakar starts murdering his
characters on paper. But then a real serial killer starts murdering women in the area. To his upstanding wife Lydia’s astonishment,
Otakar is arrested and eventually finds himself in the electric chair as well as at his own successful premiere…
